The All Things Shining blog discusses philosophy and existence. Its orienting question is: What is it to be human now?
The blog started in 2010, when I was writing the book All Things Shining with my friend, teacher, and co-author Bert Dreyfus. I continued to contribute to the blog for a while after the book was published, but eventually other commitments took over.
Now I am writing another book. It is tentatively called The Proper Dignity of Human Being. It was due out with Harvard University Press in the Fall of 2021 but, well, COVID happened. Now it is due out somewhat later. I hope to use the blog once again as a forum to get feedback on, and develop a community of discussion around, the themes of the book.
